Visual presentation format featuring comprehensive research display on a poster board.
Poster Presentation Guidelines
Poster Size
EPDMC 2026 will provide a pin-up board with the following specifications:
- Usable Area: 39 inches wide × 45 inches tall
- Recommended Size: A0 poster (33.1 × 46.8 inches) in portrait orientation
Please ensure your poster fits within the allowed display area.
Template & Design Requirements
Note: EPDMC 2026 does not mandate a specific template. Templates are readily available online in both PowerPoint and LaTeX formats. However, please adhere to the following:
- The poster must be legible from a distance of 2 meters
- Text and figures: minimum 5 mm | Headings: minimum 10 mm
- Title, authors, and affiliations near the top in letters ~25 mm high
- Use high-contrast but soothing colours
- Print with a matt finish (glossy papers distract in bright rooms)
Mounting
The mounting board surface is pushpin friendly. We will provide pins.
Printing
EPDMC will NOT offer any printing service.
Authors must bring their poster or arrange local printing on their own.
Best Practices for Effective Posters
Central Theme
The paper's central theme should be obvious to a casual reader in 30-45 seconds. Focus on THE most important aspect.
Customise Layout
A poster is not a printed presentation. Invest time to customise the layout, content, and flow.
Visual Communication
Best posters communicate visually. Use graphs and avoid walls of text.
Annotate Graphics
Annotate graphs with labels, arrows, and line diagrams. Highlight key take-home messages.
Reading Sequence
The reading sequence should be obvious. People read left to right, top to bottom.
Avoid Clutter
Keep the design clean and uncluttered for maximum impact.
Be Present
Be present during the session and engage with attendees. Lonely posters are ignored.
Business Cards
Consider attaching an envelope underneath holding your business cards.
QR Codes
Extra information or preprints can be distributed electronically with QR codes.
